Service / Blood Donor Register

Blood transfusions are an important part of the treatment of some critically ill dogs that we see at our practice each year. Just like people, dogs can suffer from traumatic injury, blood-clotting problems, acute or chronic anaemia, or require a blood transfusion during surgery. We rely on healthy dogs to donate the blood needed for these transfusions.

Our practice keeps a blood donor register of volunteer canine donors who have been thoroughly assessed as suitable donors. These dogs are helping save the lives of others, and the donation session is simple and stress-free.
